Undiagnosed Food-borne disease – United States

August 25, 2021 – Reported cases of food poisoning were identified in approximately 20 individuals. The individuals were boys in their late teens who were traveling back to Brooklyn, New York from a trip to Ukraine. No deaths were reported. All individuals have been admitted to hospitals in Rockland County, the Catskills, and Brooklyn.
The symptoms reported by the individuals included nausea, vomiting, and fever. It is suspected that the symptoms of food poisoning occurred after the consumption of tuna sandwiches. This occurred before the flight back to Brooklyn, New York.
No further action or update was presented in this source. All individuals are, as of this report, receiving medical care and treatment.
